SUMMARY:INSPIRE Masterclass: Shaping Change – First Event Successfully Held
DESCRIPTION:\nThe first session of the INSPIRE Masterclass series, aimed at transforming the creative economy, was successfully held on January 29, 2025, under the theme “Shaping Change.” With the participation of representatives from Development Agencies, the event provided a valuable learning and collaboration platform designed to support regional development and strengthen Türkiye’s position on the international stage.\nOpening Remarks: A Strategic Approach to Change Management\nIn his opening speech, Deputy Director General of Development Agencies, Mustafa Caner Meydan, highlighted the significance of capacity-building initiatives, emphasizing that this session offered a critical foundation for effectively managing change processes. He invited participants to gain new perspectives on global competition, leadership paradigms, and the transformation of creative industries.\nNavigating Change: Leadership in an Age of Uncertainty\nLed by Dr. Ecmel Ayral, the session explored the evolving understanding of leadership and the development of effective strategies in a world where change is inevitable. Addressing the transformation of cultural industries, Ayral emphasized that all sectors are now shifting towards innovative production models.\n“It is not change itself that unsettles us, but rather our uncertainty about how to respond to it,” said Ayral, underlining the crucial role of flexibility and adaptability in change management.\nReferencing Chaos Theory, Systems Theory, and Homeostasis, Ayral stressed the importance of equipping leaders with the skills to navigate uncertainty and complexity. Analyzing the business world through Chaos Theory, he highlighted the necessity of considering macro-level transformations while setting micro-goals.\nThe New Generation of Leaders: Flexibility, Diversity, and Critical Thinking\nAyral pointed out that the business world is increasingly shifting towards a BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-Linear, Incomprehensible) landscape, where traditional large-scale institutions struggle with rigidity and inertia, while the start-up ecosystem thrives through innovation and agility.\nAccording to Ayral, the key competencies that leaders must develop include:\n✔ Flexibility – Avoiding rigid mindsets and embracing change.\n✔ Psychological safety – Fostering an environment that encourages experimentation and calculated risk-taking.\n✔ Openness to diversity – Promoting inclusive leadership that integrates diverse perspectives.\n✔ Critical thinking – Challenging conventional wisdom and fostering transformation.\n“A leader’s fundamental responsibility is to embed vision into others and provide them with a sense of purpose,” noted Ayral, emphasizing that meaning and purpose will become increasingly influential in future leadership dynamics.\nSelf-Organization and Collaboration in the Creative Economy\nThe event also featured discussions on self-organization and the significance of knowledge-sharing. Ayral highlighted that start-up ecosystems and creative industries naturally foster collaborations through organic network structures, making it essential to strengthen these connections.\n“We have easy access to data, not necessarily to knowledge. The key is how we process and transform this data into actionable insights,” stated Ayral, encouraging creative entrepreneurs to be proactive in building motivation and discipline.\nINSPIRE Masterclass Series Continues\nINSPIRE Masterclass is designed as an interactive learning series aimed at enhancing the knowledge and expertise of leaders and professionals in the creative industries. The upcoming sessions in the series include:\n📌 February 12 – Disruptive Mindset – Simon Cronshaw (United Kingdom)\n📌 March 5 – Radical Collaboration and Community Powerness – Atılım Şahin (Türkiye)\n📌 March 26 – Leading with Care and UN Inner Development Goals – Birgitta Persson (Sweden)\n📌 April 9 – Critical Thinking – Leonie Bell (United Kingdom)\nThe series aims to equip professionals in the creative economy with new skills and provide them with a competitive edge on a global scale.\nFor details on upcoming events, follow the INSPIRE website and social media channels.\n\n
