About Leonie Bell
Leonie Bell is the Director of V&A Dundee, United Kingdom. As one of Scotland’s most experienced cultural leaders, she has held various leadership positions across local and national governments, cultural institutions, and public agencies — all while advocating for the transformative power of culture and creativity in society.

Her career began with the 1999 “Glasgow: UK City of Architecture and Design” programme, followed by a role as Programme Director at The Lighthouse (Scotland’s Centre for Architecture, Design and the City), where she led a dynamic programme of exhibitions, festivals, and events.

Bell later served as Head of Culture Strategy and Engagement at the Scottish Government, where she played a pivotal role in developing Scotland’s first national culture strategy. As Director of Arts and Engagement at Creative Scotland, she led large-scale funding programmes and developed arts strategies. She also oversaw Scotland’s national cultural programmes for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Currently, she chairs the Advisory Board of Glasgow International Visual Arts Festival and serves as a trustee of the Edinburgh International Festival.

Each masterclass lasts approximately 2 hours and includes a brief welcome, a 55-minute keynote presentation, and an interactive Q&A session. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with the speaker via real-time questions. This session will be facilitated by Sonay Ardi Akkar.
