Izmir Information Day

The second Information Day of the INSPIRE Project was held on November 14, 2024, in Izmir, with a focus on the “value chain in creative industries.”

The event, hosted at Orginn Creative Hub, commenced with an opening speech by Dr. Mehmet YAVUZ, Secretary-General of the Izmir Development Agency, followed by a presentation from Laetitia MANACH, Team Leader representing the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH), the lead partner of the project consortium.

One of the keynote speakers, Professor Dr. Pier Luigi SACCO, an Economics Professor at Chieti-Pescara University (Italy) and Senior Advisor to the OECD, shared insights on Türkiye’s potential as a cultural and creative powerhouse, outlining a roadmap for its development.

Dr. Funda LENA provided an overview of the methodology and findings of the first-ever value chain analysis of Türkiye’s creative sectors, conducted within the framework of the INSPIRE Project. The session also featured a Q&A segment moderated by the project’s key expert, Associate Professor Dr. Gökçe DERVİŞOĞLU OKANDAN.

The event concluded with an interactive gamification session, facilitated by Senior Policy Development Expert Gail CAIG (UK), allowing participants to exchange ideas and engage in discussions on policymaking in the creative industries.
